can a map be read by being worn? Ecologically Referenced Clothing (ERC) is a site-responsive clothing line designed to translate four eras of landscape ecology into four seasons of fashion. drawing from the physical terrain of the Willamette Valley, ERC superimposes ecological trends of the last 10,000 years onto the wearer’s body. all materials are sourced from reused clothing shops in Portland OR and from the artist’s family clothing archive, and reassembled using a sewing machine and hand stitching. the collection was presented as a gallery exhibition with runway performance in September 2018.
